I love my band books. I do. But this one was beyond amazing! I loved every second of this book. It was hot, sexy, drama-filled, angst and fabulous all wrapped into one nice little package.

I wasn’t sure how I felt about Lanie at first. It seemed like she was hanging on to a relationship that had ended so long ago, but when you find out who it was with…gah… I think I would have been hung up on that one too!

All of the guys in the band seemed very dumb when I first started reading this book. I thought they were all too cocky and arrogant for me to handle… now the twins, I haven’t quite figured out much about them except they are whores… but Riff, I am not sure if by the end of the book I really believed he was a bad guy. He was just looking out for those he cared for at any expense including a best friend. Now, the focal point of the book is Noel, and I am happy he was the focal point because he was hot, I mean hot.

The things that tore Lanie and Noel apart in the beginning were still the same demons the two had to conquer four years later. But could they do it? I couldn’t put this book down because I had to know. I fell in love with Noel in this book, he struggled so much. I did feel the story line about the parents lacked a lot. I thought there would be more to the saga between him and his dad than there was. Not that it wasn’t enough for the poor guy, but I waited for more… I wanted to see that forgiveness.

Michelle Valentine writes amazing characters and the story was flawlessly smooth. I enjoyed this band book so much. I think Noel is now one of my favorite rock gods…

Overall, I enjoyed this book. But there were a few things that drove me crazy. I will probably post spoilers, so if you haven't read the book, you should probably stop reading now.

First off, Lanie walking in on Noel with TWO naked girls should have been an automatic turn-off. That's disgusting. So when he, immediately after kicking the girls out, attempted to kiss Lanie, I expected her to be like "Ew! You were just with those two skanks and now you're trying to kiss me?"

Instead, she just stood there, willing to let him touch all up on her. Now, I know they're supposed to have such an amazing connection that she can't help herself. But there isn't enough chemistry in the world to make me want to be intimate with a man who was JUST with two groupies.

Then the fact that she was intimate with him without demanding a condom? So irresponsible and gross. She should have at LEAST asked when he was last tested for STDs. He's a ROCK STAR. Who knows how many women he's been with? And you just let him go all the way without protecting yourself?

About the baby, I'm sorry, but there are way too many ways to determine a baby's DNA while still in the womb. Amniocentesis being one of them. There is absolutely NO excuse that Noel didn't know whether or not he was the father. Especially since it was not only ruining his love life, it was also ruining his closest friendship. Just foolish.

Also, Noel's attitude after blackmailing Lanie into staying really got on my nerves. He was all bubbly smiles and pretending he wasn't manipulating the crap out of the situation. It was ridiculous. He went from crying and looking like a lost puppy, to smiling and winking at her. Made me wonder if he was bipolar. (?)

Aside from those things, and quite a few grammatical errors, the book was enjoyable. I'm glad I read this book. I really liked the moms. Both Lanie and Noel's. Aubrey, the friend, was cool as well.

I’m familiar to Michelle Valentine’s writings, as a matter of fact I’m a fan of her Hard Knocks series and I’m so looking forward to read Xavier Cold. Meanwhile I decided to give it a try to her Black Falcon series , even if rock stars are not really my type of reads. Maybe it’s just me but rock star stories are a little too … unrealistic .

Noel Falcon is the lead guitar player and singer of the the Black Falcon rock band. Lanie is the hardworking good girl who tries to achieve a job at a marketing company. If she wants to land her dream job as executive within the company, she has to win him over , secure his account and get more info about the Falcon Charity. But she soon finds out that the only reason why she got this chance is because Noel insisted for her to come and travel with the band for two weeks. Now Lane is afraid . Is Noel trying to get her back? Or is it revenge?

I was about to rate it 4 stars but as I was reaching the end of the book something happened that made me not like the characters as much as I thought I do. When Lane finds out that Noel is expecting a child with another girl , she simply did what she does best . Turning her back on Noel when things are not as she wants them to be. Insane , she left Noel four years ago because she thought that he pays more attention to his music and not to her, even if Noel was obviously madly in love with her and would give an arm just to bring her back. He was left alone and heartbroken but she didn’t care.

"Just stop. " he closes his eyes. "Just stop, okay ? You're ripping out my heart and you don't even know it. [...] The fact that I'm not allowed to do a God damn thing about it because you're not mine is killing me."

Noel made it clear that he does not love Sophie , he just wants to be a good dad to his kid and prove that he is better than his own father. But of course Lane didn’t want to hear a single word and starts throwing tantrums each time she doesn't get her way. Sweetheart, the world doesn’t revolve around you. To make things even worse , pushed by despair and fear of losing Lane the second time , Noel ,too , starts acting like a 12 years old .

But fortunately the plot twist at the end saved the book for me.
